VANESSA KWAN & ERIKA STOCKING ARTIST TALK

the Geyser for Hillcrest Park

CASV Members visited Vanessa Kwan and Erica Stocking's Hillcrest Geyser yesterday. Vanessa was on site to discuss the Geyser as well as current and future projects. We didn't manage any snaps from the day, but we have managed to show you some images of the Geyser courtesy of Vanessa Kwan's website and via mashedthoughts.com

The Geyser is the last of the 23 temporary and permanent public art pieces commissioned by the City of Vancouver as part of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic games legacy. It is located east of Hillcrest Centre on the grassy knoll at the corner of Ontario and Peveril Street. The geyser only erupts when water is needed in the grey water catchment system that is used for sanitary and irrigation needs in the Hillcrest Centre, making it par to the green initiatives of the building.

Future studio visit coming up: Reece Terris - October 20th.
